How UPS calculates it
UPS resets its fuel surcharge every Monday. Ground and Ground Saver use the EIA national on-highway diesel price from the prior Monday, rounded to the nearest cent, looked up in UPS’s published table. Domestic Air uses the U.S. Gulf Coast jet fuel price the same way. International services have their own, higher tables.
UPS: Ground, Ground Saver and Domestic Air tables reset
Both tables rise 0.5 percentage points at today’s fuel prices. The point where Ground switches to slow, $0.27 steps moves from $4.99 to $5.80 diesel, and Air from $3.01 to $3.56 jet fuel, so surcharges fall more slowly if fuel drops.
UPS: Ground table bottom extended
The fine-step range was extended lower without a rate-update notice, slowing the decline in the surcharge when diesel eases.
UPS and DHL Express: Domestic tables raised; DHL goes weekly
UPS raised Ground by up to 1.5 percentage points and Air by up to 2.5 percentage points. DHL Express moved from monthly to weekly fuel updates.
