Based on the EIA U.S. on-highway diesel price, rounded to the nearest cent. Each $0.09 step moves the surcharge 0.25 percentage points. Below $4.99 the steps widen to $0.27, so the surcharge falls more slowly when fuel drops. This week’s rate is 29.50%; next week 30.25% (calculated).
